Child Profile

Josh is a 17 year old who is in need of a forever family. He doesn’t know what it is like to be part of a real family and is anxious to learn and be a part of one. He would like a parent who will take him fishing and play ball with him. He is looking forward to having a nurturing mother. Overall he wants parents who are THERE for him: physically, emotionally and psychologically. Josh enjoys and is good at drawing and writing. He writes poems and songs. He loves the Cincinnati Reds and he enjoys listening to contemporary Christian music. Josh is very polite. He has genuine concern for others. Recently Josh has begun visits with his birth family. He would like to keep in contact with them.

Josh is currently placed in a treatment foster home. In the past he has been placed in a residential treatment. He is doing well in school. Josh thrives when he receives positive attention. He has some ticking behaviors that include random noises, gestures and picking. He is currently participating in individual therapy to address his past history of abuse and neglect and to work on his coping skills. He is also learning independent living skills.

The agency is currently looking for an adoptive home for Josh to transition to. The right parents will need to provide a great deal of structure with clear expectations and consequences. It is recommended that he be placed with no children or older children. The right family would be willing to participate in his treatment and be committed to seeing him have success in life.

If you have further questions about Josh or if you believe you could be the forever family for him then I look forward to talking to you.
